Austin & Halleck

I was thinking of selling my Thompson/Center System #1 (never fired), and buy me a Austin & Halleck 420LR Monte Carlo Hand Select Blu or S/N. I know almost nothing about Austin & Halleck muzzleloaders execpt what their catalogue offers. Are they accurate, do they have nice wood, and are they high quality firearms? Any information will help. Thanks in advance.

Too heavy, quality control is problematic, and they are overpriced. I'd keep the TC!!

Keep yore powder dry!!

I saw a A&H Mountain Rifle in the rack. It looked nice from a distance, but it wasn't put together very well. I'd stick with the T/C.

I just ordered the 320 from bass pro for $199. I like the heavy, personally. With the 420 you get two stocks, one real fancy wood stock and one synthetic hunting stock. Go to their web site and you can read all about them.
