I have...back about 1979 I called in a gobbler in VA with a wing bone call I made and killed him with my Bob Watt's custom .45 flintlock.

Two for me so far, both with my CVA 'Kenturkey' rifle kit gun, .45.
I was using home-cast TC maxi's over a medium load load of loose Pyro P. I aim for where the neck meets the shoulders (don't trust myself for pure headshots, not enough practice I reckon!). Longest shot was right at 50 paces. Gettin' your gobbler "pilgrim-style" is alot of fun! BP |

Two gobblers have fallen to my White Tominator. With the .665" choke it patterns as good as my cartidge 12 gauge.

RE: Muzzleloaders for turkey?
I use a .62 caliber smoothbore percussion lock rifle made by Green Mountain Barrel Co. I load 80 grains of Goex 2f, then a over the powder wad. After that I use a fiber wad and on that load 100 grains of #6 shot. After that I use two over the shot cards. This is a good combination to 25 yards for me. Although the turkey would not cooperate the first time out and then due to a illness, I missed the last season...
