Grains vs Grains

I was just wondering what the difference would be if I went with a 180 grain .50cal sabot vs a 245 grain .50cal sabot? What would be the result at lets say 200 yards?Whitetail hunting of course!

I think you would be better off most of the time with the heavier bullet. I know you better be looking at 100 yard shots maximum instead of the 200 yard stuff. Even the very best muzzle loader shooters shouldn't be looking at 200 yard hunting shots. I can't wait to get chewed on for that opinion, but that's what I think. My Encore shoots within two inches at 100 yards, so that doubles to four at 200 yards I guess, but the bullet drop at that range and other things like wind drift must be considered. Good luck. Jim

200yards???Not with mine!125 tops.I shoot a 300grn conical bullet.My CVA Mountain Stalker doesn't seem to like sabots.

Hunting is not a sport,it's a lifestyle.
