Ramrod for Omega
I have an Omega and I'm looking for a new rod for the range and cleaning. What is the best?
Thanks, Darrell |
RE: Ramrod for Omega
Just adding a power handle to your stock ramrod makes a big differance.

ORIGINAL: 01Foreman400 I have an Omega and I'm looking for a new rod for the range and cleaning. What is the best? My suggestion for the range would be to measure the present Omerga ramrod with the T/C-provided extention jag attached. This site sells all different sizes. A real nice 2nd option are the brass ramrods there. They areheavy & bite right thru any crud rings.I purchased the longer one for my Omega -- I think it fits the Traditions Kentucky & Shenandoah rifle. Both ramrods have double-end fittings for attachments. The black anodized one is the same one T/C uses.... so it's strong & forever. Get a couple of nice T-handles or palm saver ends for your ramrods somewhere. I think the ones I have are orange & roundrubber -- shaped like they fit over slim round stool legs - with a flare on the end for outstanding gripping. http://rmcsports.com/catalog.htm |
RE: Ramrod for Omega
There are a lot off range rods available depends on what you like. I like to take a 3/8 alunminium doll from the hardware store drill and tap the ends for #10with 32 thread per inch after I cut it one inch longer than level with the barrel. This makes a stong economical range rod and in a pinch you can substitute for your regular ramrod,it will stick out a bit but that won't bother anything. Lee

RE: Ramrod for Omega
I second the Knight range rod. Made of solid aluminum and has a very good/strong handle.
