RE: Red Dot Scope on Muzzleloader?

ORIGINAL: Blown Smoke

I had a Tasco Pro-Point mounted on one of my Hawken rifles
at one time. At dawn & dusk it was useless, all you could see
was a bright gleam from the dot and couldn't see thru the tube.
No matter how you adjusted the dot it had the same effect.
After the sun came up to full light, you were thengood to go.
SoI went back to the iron sights.

i dont know if that is same red dot scope they call J- POINT. they did revise it.the ones i saw at range on pistols they bought this year and they said it was improved. all i can tell you is they are using them and i tried it and could see real well.i did not try it at dark as you said.but, boy what a scope, they were shooting 1 inch groups at 25 yards with that scope with 22 cal.pistols. best i can get with open sights on my pistol at 25 yards is about 2 and 1/2 inchs.
