Speer 270gr.

Has anyone shot this bullet with the green sabot? If so was it accurate out to 75-100 yds.? Speer .44(.429) 270gr. Jacketed softpoint What ML and twist did you use? I thank all for any info.

I shot them out of a couple different rifles. These are the Gold Dot Soft Point. While they were accurate with moderate powder chargeloads, personally I had some problems getting them to group at 100 yards. I am not saying that this would be the case with your rifle, but just my personal experience. After about 70 yards is where they all of a sudden started to fly around.

Same as Cayugad - getting flyers & not sure if the 270 Speers were at fault or the green sabot. I've since discontinued the use of all 44-cal sabot/bullets& stick only to the 45-cal black sabots for 50-cal rifles.

Couldn't get them to group very well with my Omega either.

Thanks for the info, i just had a bag of green sabots gathering dust and was looking for a good bullet to try out on targets and then deer.

Perhaps you should consider some .429-.430 diameter 240 or 300 grain Hornady XTP's. They are inexpensive, accurate, and hard hitting.

I have used the Green sabot with 300gr .429 XTP with reasonable sucessout of my System One it will hold a 2 inch group with 110 gr RS[1-38 twist] out of my Omega they will hold 1.5 inch group with 100 gr APP- FF. As Cayuqad said the green sabot does not go beyond moderate loads.

I have around three 50-packs of green sabots leftover. I use (1) empty sabotin front of 30 grains of powder for a fouling shotevery time I get to the range or hunting woods. Probably enough for the nextseveral years of fouling shots. :)
