.54 Cal Remington

While looking at shotguns at Bi-Mart today I noticed they had a Remington .54 cal. muzzleloader on closeout for $279.00. Is this gun worth it?

I have a 700ml in stainless 50 caliber which I really like. I don't know anyone with the 54 but it sounds like a good price. I think I payed about $300 for my 50 in a simalar closed out a couple of years ago.

Remington is a great company, and I am sure their black powder rifles are made with the same high standards as their center fire. As for the .54 caliber, that is a great caliber. Granted in the past years it has lost popularity to the .50 caliber, but I have a .54 caliber, and I think it is just a great caliber to shoot and hunt with. That sure sounds like a good price for the rifle. I think I am going to have to wander into the sporting goods more often at the Wal Mart.

It's a good rifle, but the .50 will be easier to get supplies for.
