You can put a cleaning jag on your ramrod.Push a patch to the bottom of the breech then measure the amount the ramrod moves in relation to the amount it rotates in the barrel for a set distance (I like to use 12 inches). A 1:48 twist, the ramrod will make a complete rotation in 48 inches. The problem with this method is often times, the person doing the test will straight pull the patch back up and not allow it to turn which makes the guess of the rifleing twist hard to do. |

It's a Hawken [sp]

Odds are, if it's a T/C barrel, it's probably a 1-48". A convincing majority are! If you are unable to perform the barrel test, call T/C service department & give them your serial numbers. They have it on their computers.

RE: How do I ............
good to see you over here....you can see im here a LITTLE too much lol. i actually shoot the flinter pretty dang well too. took a groundhog at 45yds my first year with it:) then another at 10-15yds later that day i think...never had a deer cross my paths. i think its badluck. one day i had a great shot on a doe. i was in a stand with a rest..touched off..she stood there. i was like WTF! i practice out to 75yds she was like 40..she was dead meat...she never dropped. i looked and my dang rear sights were half way off the gun!!....im sorry to say but i dont know whats going to happen with my bow hunting. last friday i came home from work and grabbed the bow and ran to the backyard to fling some arrows when i noticed a slight painin my brace shoulder..i immediatly stopped. saturday and sunday i didnt shoot. i do lift heavy stuff at work, and lift stuff over my head, putting it on the floor etc. but i didnt shoot. monday it felt fine. went to shoot the bow and it almost brought me to tears. so yesterday i went to a chiropractor to see if he cant fix me up. he started to but i gota keep going for him to figure out whats wrong. he gota learnmy body structure i guess. needless to say im taking it easy. i go see him after work tomarrow. i dont know whats wrong. i hope its not serious. right now its not bad..so i dont know..we will see. i think its work related if anything..not shooting. but i know with joint injuries it usually occurs over time..we shall see....i hope im not laid up. if its something serious i probably couldnt do ANY kind of hunting or fishing!
