Sidekick and blowback wow
I just popped a couple of primers in my new sidekick. It was dark outside, and what a flash through the slot where the primerholder sticks out. I shoot lefthanded, and it seems close to my face. Is this, a , safe?
Sidekick owners, do y'all worry about this? What will it do with a load? John in Arkansas |
RE: Sidekick and blowback wow
John - many inlines will throw a shower of sparks from the 209 primers. While I have never shot a sidekick in low light conditions, I have shot a few other brands and I am sure the sparks were just as impressive. Not as impressive as a flintlock mind you, but as for being safe, I am sure it is. You might try a cooler primer like the Remington Kleenbore or the Winchester Triple Se7en I have heard about. Whether that will reduce the light show I do not know.

I haven't shot at night so i can't tell you about the flash. My son is left handed and has shot my sidekick with out any issues, what kind of primer are you using? With out posting all the info it's hard to offer help, I take it you cleaned the mz and the breech plug as discribed in the manual.

I followed the instructions to the letter. I cleaned all of the packing grease and swabbed it good. As I posted, I haven't shot a load through it, just a couple of primers. Just wanted to know if the big flash from the primer holder is normal.

If you want to see a nice Light Show, fire three Federal 209A primers.
