What patche lube do you use?

i just got back into shooting rb again. i use bore butter patchs in summer and i like hoppes blackpowder lube in winter but dont shoot much in winter.i like bore butter in bore also in summer. makes pushing ball in easier.

Hoppes #9 BP Plus and T/C-13 are very similar solvents/cleaners.... notmainly lubricants-first. They are multi-purpose "cleaners"& can be used in a few different ways like patch lubes. But so can plain ol' spit!

Not exactly....It is mainly bees wax....But it also has a "softener"...Which is petroleum based....I had never even questioned for many years, but after discussions like this on another site (I think)...I did a little research and even called SnoSeal...Now they wouldn't tell me what percentage petroleum it was, but I figured if I hadn't had any problems with gumming, etc for 20 some years that I wasn't going to worry about....At some of the shoots that I used to attend, guys were actually using wheel bearing grease...I didn't want to go that route as I was a mechanic for years and knew something out there must work that isn't so "greasy"...
