Pglasgow, Yes oil from a Sperm whale what my granddad taught me to use for patch lube in 1949 when I was 12 yuears old still have the underhammer I learned on was made in 1837. They quit selling the Sperm oil in the 70's I believe, since they are not supposed to hunt whales any more. Lee
