RE: Big Conicals out of a GMB
Hornady makes a Great Plains Conical in 410 grain. I also have some in 385 grain and 460 grain all made by Hornady. The Great Plains Conical has been a stand by conical for many years. They normally shoot real well but can be a little hard to load..

RE: Big Conicals out of a GMB
I just bought some Buffalo 410's. They are hollow pointed flat based bullets. I also bought some 385 Hornady Great Plains and some Buffalo 270 Ballets. As cayugad said, Hornady makes a 410 which happens to be solid point hollow based. When I expect impact velocities below 1200 fps, I like to use hollow pointed bullets, though i may be better off sticking with the solids.I think bothwork just fine. But I don't like non-jacketed hollowpoints above 1300 fps impact velocity.Obviously, I may have to compromise at times:D. Hornady's are cheaper than Buffalo. I think both are good bullets. Got mine at http://www.cheaperthandirt.com . Happy Hunting, Phil |
