CVA Optima
Can anyone advise likes/dislikes or any opinion about this particular rifle or the CVA product in general? Thanks in advance.

RE: CVA Optima
Garminator I own the one with the 26inch barrel. It seems a few people like to put these particular guns down. I've shot severel deer and an elk last year that scored 340 with this gun. I own an omega and it shoots good but I would put my optima against any day for accuracy. I like the fact that it has a solid stock unlike the omega. Stay between 80 to 100grns of whatever powder you want to shoot and I think you will be very happy with the gun IMO.

I have one, I just posted a pic in the Post a pic of your rifle and gear thread. They shoot good and strong. I Like 100 grains, usually pellets and Hornady SST in 250 caliber, easier to load then powerbelts. They are real cheap too. All in all a great gun and fairly cheep to must bp rifles. Have fun in your choice tho muzzleloaders are fun.

RE: CVA Optima
I've got one. It's a 26" barrel nickel plated version. It's a little heavy, but that makes it nice when shooting the heavier loads. It's shoots well and the trigger is pretty decent. I felt triggers much worse on higher cost rifles. Mine likes the 348 gr. powerbelts and 105 gr. of 777. I plan on playing with the 405 gr. powerbelts here in the near future.
