UNETHICAL PRACTICES AT BUFFALO BILLS SHOOTING STORE, ORLANDO

UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES
BUFFALO BILLs SHOOTING STORE, ORLANDO FLORIDA
CAUTION TO FELLOW MUZZLELOADERS
I bought a Flintlock through GunBroker from Buffalo Bills Shooting Store, Orlando, Florida…and after Emailing many detailed questions that I’ve learned to ask over the years.
The rifle arrived but its condition had been misrepresented…there were several fingernail-sized patches of rust on the barrel in spite of my specific references to rust in my Emails.
In addition, the barrel was poorly packed, just slid loose into a cardboard box, and was severely damaged in shipment.
Buffalo Bill’s said to return it for a complete refund, however, after they got the rifle back from me, they then announced that their "policy" is not to refund shipping costs under any circumstances and they would not be giving me a complete refund.
Even GunBroker management attempted to reason with Buffalo Bills but had no actual leverage to force him to refund the shipping and he essentially told them to buzz off.
Summary of Buffalo Bill’s poor and unethical handling of my transaction:
The return was only made as a result of misrepresentation, and damage caused by poor packing…both the responsibility of Buffalo Bills.
[ol][*]They misrepresented the condition of the rifle in spite of my specific Email references about it’s condition ahead of time;

[*]They very poorly packed it resulting in severe damage to the barrel;

[*]They first agreed/committed, then reneged on their responsibility to give me a complete refund for the return of the rifle.

[/ol]

Based upon the unethical behavior of Bills Shooting Store with this transaction, I am warning all fellow muzzleloaders to think long and hard about buying anything from them…even getting Email confirmations and commitments made no difference to the ethical standards displayed by Buffalo Bills Shooting Store in Orlando.

Roundball, I know from past forum conversations that you of all people know Flintlocks and traditional style rifles. I therefore have no doubt that you asked the right questions reference the condition of the rifle. If you claim the rifle was misrepresented, your word is good enough for me.

I appreciate the heads up on BUFFALO BILL'S SHOOTING STORE, ORLANDO FLORIDA especially since I purchase numerous rifles and accessories for rifles off the internet. I can assure you, there will be no transactions done with that business. The best way to hurt an unethical business is to make all aware of their business practice, and then refuse to promote their business or purchase from them.

Thanks for the heads up....

It's just mind boggling to me that you can Email clearlywritten criteria for a purchase, then get the item andimmediately seethat it was misrepresented...and I'm not talking about nit-picking here, I mean there were 4-5 patches of red rust scattered about on the barrel, the size of a person's fingernail...they jumped up and caught my eye even as I was lifting the rifle out of the box they were that obvious...unbelieveable the stuff that people try to pull...and then not to have the moral fiber to 100% stand behind a sale.

And the funny thing about it is, it's not the money (only about $18)...it's the principle...there is no way a buyer should incur ANY expense with such a mishandled transaction.

So, after weeks of attempting to reason with him, even getting GunBroker involved, the only recourse I have left isto advertise...and note I said nothing slanderous, I just posted the facts and have the Emails to back it up...and ironically, if he misses even one sale as a result of what he's forced me to do by announcing this,it'll be a greater profit loss than the petty$18 he "saved" by not refusing to make the transaction right.

We humans are a strange lot, eh?

PS: Had a great range session this morning between turkey hunts...ran 50Hornady .530's downrange...and it was one of those days I know you've had where it seems you just can't do anything wrong...I mean they were going into center bull like heat seeking missles...beautiful spring weather, etc...going to have a repeat tomorrow morning...life is good!

It really is disgusting isn't it...we're only talking $18 US...hardly earth shattering...it's the princple of it to me.

I don't treat people like this and I don't appreciate getting this sort of treatment...I enter into these transactions open, honest and in good faith, get the money to them ASAP, and then have to put up with their dishonesty.

There have to be some sort of consequence for actions in our society and one of them is word of mouth advertisement, good or bad...and if at least one person who reads this avoids getting this kind of unethical treatment from Buffalo Bills then it will have been worth something.

on e-bay i got burned and it happens.they send you item and things are missing.then your stuck.i sent my beretta shotgun brand new ,1st time it was defect in stock. i paid shipping, they would not.when shotgun came back they put a 1 inch scratch on my new barrel. i was pissed. they said send it in. i paid again to ship. now i am out of 40 dollars on shipping. beretta will not pay for shipping for any reason.so, i agree its happening all over. a vacumm cleaner part was shipped to me last month. i paid 65 dollars with shipping for it. i did not open it until wed. it was wrong part. fine print on the bill said i have 15 days to check it OR they will not let you return it. i was over it. i called company, their fault and they said,WELL, we will overlook it this time but you got to pay shipping.i was real mad. it was their fault not mine.so, i paid it because part was 65 dollars.
