Ok I am kind of doing this as a servey to see how the 54cal roundball shoots with different combinations. If you shoot a 54cal roundball please tell us...

Although I don't shoot the .54 RB (would very much like to do so in the future), I am very surprised to observe the number of folks using a 1:48 twist and not a 1:66 or 1:70.

For the guys that have 3 or more guns in .54 cal (Cayugad for instance), why didn't you ever choose a slower twist than the 1:48???

Just curious...

Hunter John, I don't know what "Cayugad" thinks about this I hope we find out. But for one I like a 1-48 in a 54 for target ,but it will do quite well as a hunting gun mine shoots what I consider quite decant groups at 150 yds with a 110 gr of RS and will shoot a maxie hunter maxie or a purple sabot with a 270 gr -50 cal bullet or a 54/44 sabot with a 200 gr bullet.
Of course I use my 1-80 twist with long barrel for the 177 yd Hawken Matches and it will only shoot RB. Lee
