Many Kudos For CVA/BPI company

A while back I had sent off a new rifle I'd purchased, a .50 caliber CVA Stalker Carbinewith the 1-32 twist in a 21" barrel back to the company, BPI in Norcross, Ga. The rifle had a trigger pull that was uncomfortable and made shooting very difficult if not near impossible when working for groups.

Well today the UPS man, who I believe is starting to question my sanity when he brought the box to my porch and handing it to me questioned, Another rifle? To which I responded, yes... :Dwas kind enough to bring it back to me.

I have to admit that CVA/BPI what ever you want to call them, really came through for me here. They tuned that rifle trigger to about #4 pounds. There is no creep, and it breaks clean and crisp.

It's a shame I already shot today, or I would take it out on the range. I guess it will wait until tomorrow and get a turn out there throwing some lead. It will be interesting to see what it can do all tuned up...

Thanks CVA/BPI for a job well done and for taking that extra effort in customer satisfaction.... Something to keep in mind when you purchase a rifle is customer service. They really came through here...

Maybe I was lucky - or maybe your trigger was a fluke - but the trigger on my BPI Beartooth .50 is really nice. I don't have a scale, but I'd guess it to be about 4 pounds, and real clean breaking, too. Not quite as crisp as my Ruger CF, but very nice for an inexpensive rifle. And what with being able to shoot 1 1/2 - 2" groups at 100 yards, I am very pleased with it.
Now - if I can just get a deer to stand out in front of me ......

IM jaybe :)

I hear you on the deer.. they have been real scare since the wolves moved into the area. Although the DNR told me that the wolves do not effect the deer population ina given management area. And of course I believe the DNR.

I checked the trigger with a scale I have and it broke at just over #4 pounds. Real nice job they did. This should make a great stalking rifle in the thickets being as short as it is and being in the thickets your shots are usually under 50 yards. CVA told me they sell scope mounts for this rifle even though it is a side lock, so I thought I might want to put a red dot on this rifle. It could be fun...

I had a millett red dot on mine for a while but my eyes are not what they once were. I went to a 3x9-40 scope and it comes in handy with some of the longer ranges available at my lease. PM me if you want that red dot gratis. I'm sure I won't be needing it.

They do have very good service. I got a breech plug at no charge so #11 or musket caps could be used in a firebolt. They didnt even hesitate to send one to me plus the nipples. I didnt like the trigger pull on one of my rifles so they sent a free trigger assembly in 4 days at no charge. They will keep my business even if they are made in Spain.Hey wait, so is the allpopular Austin and Halleck last I checked.;)

The new trigger on the CVA Stalker Carbine is beautiful to say the least. Really outstanding trigger control on the rifle. For a sidelock it is really well done.

I decided to tune the rifle in today so I shot 80 grains of Goex 2f, a homemade wonderwad, a 370 grain Maxi Ball, lubed with castor oil lube I made, and a CCI magnum #11 cap. All this was done at 30 yards of my Dead Shot rest and bench. The open sights on the rifle are real nice, and easy to adjust, so we only had to shoot a nice group and then once I was sure where it was hitting, make a couple adjustments to put it in the bull.

This will make a great little short range tree stand or thick woods stalking rifle...
