powders

How much difference is there going to be between using one powder vs another? I've only ever shot one k ind of powder, the cheapest kind i could find. Would it benefit me to try other powders?

RE: powders

It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

You were very vague in your thread question. Never mentioned if you had a money-spending limit, what powder interests you most(real or subs), what gun ya' have, whatthe powdercosts you, using heavy or light bullets, what your bore-cleaning experience is, what consisterncy you are getting jug-to-jug, if you need a powder that works withmultiple ML styles.... etc.... etc... etc.

So that's why mysuggestion/answer doesn't exist in this reply.

RE: powders

I started out using Pyrodex pellets, then bought a couple pounds of Triple Seven, which I liked. This past fall I found Pyrodex RS for $5/lb; so I'm going to have to like Pyrodex RS, since I've got four pounds of it. Had it to the range once; works fine. Dirtier than Triple Seven, and stinks.... but worked fine. Seem as accurate, but I suspect either powder is more consistent than I am.
