Shock Wave sabots.

Went to Dick's Sporting goods today and bought a 15 pack of 250 gr. ShockWaves. I opened the pack when I got home and found the sabots to be the same type that don't work in my Omega. I'm glad that I have a 50 pack of Harvester Crush Ribs. It's possible that these S/W's have been sitting in a warehouse for some time. I would think T/C would want them of the market to avoid more bad press.

There are still plenty of MLs out there where the old plastic sabot works/loads decently.

Either take them back for a refund or put them in your trash-pickup recycle bin with newspaper, bottles, cans and other plastic like we have here in S.E. Michigan -- then live happily ever-after with the Harvesters....;)

Not worth the combination of one-way postage- the time & hassle of boxing them - running to the post office & shipping them for 15 plastic sabots.

Just call T/C they will send you out some good sabots. You wont have to send the old ones back.

Can you tell the difference by looking at them (number etc on the bottom) or is it just a question of whether they fit your gun?

With the naked eye it really would be difficult to tell the difference. The new sabot will be a little bit taller and a little bit thinner, but other than that they looked pretty much the same. The new sabots will be MMP HPH-24's - I believe you have a variety of HPH-12

lemoyne

lee, I believe the new bonded shock waves should come with the MMP HPH-24 sabot. The run of incorrect sabots occurred in mid 2005 if I remember right - the bonded shocks are fairly new so I would expect the correct sabot.

I called T/C about the last batch and they sent me 15 new sabots. The new sabots have a number molded in the bottom of the base. The sabots that load hard have the number molded in the bottom of the bullet pocket. As posted they have shorter and thicker petals than the correct ones. The correct sabots load about as easily as the crush ribs. I'll call T/C again tomorrow, can never have to many sabots.

Wow I must have missed the orignal post. Are yu guys saying that the shock-wave bullets had and erra in the sabitots that came with them. If yes that would expland why I had a hard time loading the first rounds into my new Omega as I posted. I thought it was getting easier because I was breaking in the barrel. Go figure. That really explanes a lot. Thanks Mike

Mike, apparently some S/W's were packaged with the wrong sabots. I ended up with a pack of them. They loaded hard with a clean barrel and it took 2 men and a boy to push them down a dirty barrel. "Dirty" being after 1 shot was fired and the barrel wasn't swabbed. Bought another 15 pack yesterday and they too had the wrong sabots.
