Tree climber,
Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time. I'm sure you and your nephew will have a great time developing loads for your ML's for the upcoming hunting season.
It was sure nice of you to be thinking about him. He's a very lucky fellow and I'm sure that you'll be rewarded in more ways than one.

The big-city Wal*Marts usually find ways to move their MLs before January arrives. A few components may be left-over until February... nothing I want. I haven't used Pyrodex or isolated, smallpackage bullets like Powerbelts in small packs for many years. No use for their weak blackpowder cleaners or 50-pk patches either.

I buy everything either in bulk (or) specialized, detail cleaners for copper, plastic... etc... in gun stores or over the world-wide internet. No use for CVA guns anymore too.

Guess it all depends on your income/quality of firearm that you're seeking -- passing them out as gifts... etc. Good luck with your purchases. Need help finding good loads... just ask here. Lots of CVA shooter here. Also folks like myself, Cayugad, Sabotloader & other experienced MLers here will help.

Just a couple of comments, in Idaho we would not be able to use the 45 during ML season and second there have been posts out there claiming the 45 is a little harder to tame than the 50's. Getting them to group has been a chore, but I am sure that there are some that will shoot the lights out...

You may find that the 45 is a little better
shooter than most people think. I own a Beartooth
Magnum in 45cal. & it will shoot the 195gr.
aero-tip powerbelt like they were on a rope.
In another post I included a picture of the buck
I harvested last year with the 45. Some folks just
plain don't like the CVA's & say they would never
stoop so low as to own one! But I say it is not
the name on the weapon, that guages, the amount
of pleasure I can have shooting it.
Good Shooting & God Bless Danny
