T/C Grey Hawk scope mount

I bought a new in the box Grey Hawk 50 cal. SS and its not drilled and tapped for a scope mount. T/C lists one but has to have an adapter also. So both cost about $140 with shipping. Is it worth the money or would i be better of taking it to gun smith and get it drilled and tapped?[&:]

congrats on the purchase! they dont make that model anymore. my brother has one and has been looking for a while. thompson center has a quick release duo=ring system but you need 3 pieces to make a complete mount. it is kinda confusing. you need the base-quickrelease base and then the rings. another option would be to just get the regular mount(non quick release). you have to take the rear site off i believe. give thompson center a shout. also cva makes a universal type bases with holes that line up to many different models.
