Slick50 ONE grease is the best thing I have found for breech plugs - with or without the tape.

Gorilla Grease is all I've ever used and I've had no problems with stuck breech plugs . I also slightly loosen and then retighten the plug occasionally if I'm shooting for awhile to prevent seizing .

And that is kind of my point(s) - I never have to do anything to the plug once it is installed until i take it out to clean it. T7 will create its own seal after a few rounds. If it is necessary to loosen the BP after having it tightened up you do break that seal and you will need to build another one. Each time you break the seal you have that much less of a chance to to stop the pressure leak at the face of the breech plug and the rear of the barrel. Debris will likely get on one or both of those surfaces not allowing a gas seal to exist there...

this just the belief of one old man - your beliefs may differ and i know you gun will - so you gotta do what works for you...

I use the T/C lube for my breech plug. And
never had a problem. But the teflon tape
sounds interesting. We order it by the case
at work. All brass fittings are put together
using it. It works great in the water works
industry, so I know it should work great as
a breech plug sealent. Danny

I bought something last season and its not real messy and is a form that really makes it easy to apply. Its called The Stik. I got it from Cabelas. I have had no problems at all with seizing. One technician from a company told me just to go to Walmarts and get a can of wheel bearing grease. He said that is what they use for their breech plugs and its cheap. I dont know about the grease but the stik is good. I think it is 7.99 a container.
