Waiting on Uncle Sam.
Well as I posted in reply to Qtomkins, I am going to buy a Pedersoli Dbl 12 Ga. from Cabela's. I was really hoping to be able to go to the Ft Worth store this weekend to pick it up but, alas no. I have to wait for our tax return to get here. What a bummer.
I was asked why I'm not getting the 10Ga. and I don't have a good answer. The 2 guns weigh the same, 7lbs each. I guess the extra $110 for the 10 is the deciding factor. I plan on working up a turkey load in a hurry as I'm going opening weekend. ( April 1st) If anyone has any suggestions I'm open to them. Otherwise I'll see what Sam Fadala has to say in my " Blackpowder Handbook & Loading Manual". I'll also have to work up a load for a 12 Ga. PRB. I believe this will be a fun and effective hog gun with the right load. I'm looking forward to being able to make a follow up shot, not that I'll need to! Boy do I hate waiting! |
RE: Waiting on Uncle Sam.
are you going to be using plastic wads, or shooting right off the fiber wad? As for you choice of the 12 over the 10, I can't blame you with those kind of savings. I think your 12 will be more then up to the task. Good luck with your new shotgun, and I hope you get a visit from your Uncle soon

RE: Waiting on Uncle Sam.
I'm not sure yet about shooting with plastic or fiber. I will get supplies for both and see how the gun patterns best. I'm planning to try working up an effective load for gobblers at 30 yds. I think that is a realistic goal for this gun. I will start with 60gr APP 2F and 1 1/2 ounces #6 shot and see where that leads me.
Does anyone know the max load for this gun? |
