RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
I'm glad I do not live that close to their factory. My wallet could never stand the strain.

RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
It's worse than that Cayugad, 20 minutes from T/C is Kittery Trading Post and 45 minutes from my house is Riley's Gun Shop. I must say most of the deals I have got on guns lately have been right in the city I live in.

RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
Pittsburghunter,
You live that close to T/C and you don't work for them? You could be missing your call in life;) |
RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
Maybe I am lucky I live in the middle of no where. Although I still seem to find plenty of stuff to purchase. Although living where you do, I do not know if I could pass on all them kind of deals. I really have plans to get a black powder MODERN 12 gauge shot gun and some day I will find a deal on a T/C Hawkins percussion in .58 caliber new. Then I will make another purchase of a rifle. Fox Ridge thank goodness is a little too expensive for me...:D

You're jumping a little toofast...no one is bashing TC at all...and there couldn't be a bigger TC fan than I am and have been for 15+ years...but that doesn't mean there can't be frank, factual, conversations about actual observed events that concern us...indeed because TC has been such an outstanding company for muzzleloading is exactly why we're having the discussion

WOW,WOW,WOW, Guys enough T/C bashing! Mike Hill, I don't believe anyone was bashingT/C. Talking about our disappointmentin theanswers we get when we call T/C's Customer Service Dept.is in "no way" bashing T/C. IMO I agree with you110% that T/C has done a lot to improve our sport and I hope they continue and are around for many manyyears to come. |
RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
Mike, I am not bashing either as you can see very experienced people have been getting some bad information and for a company with such good products and warrantee we just expect better informed customer service reps.
Heck I own 6 T/C rifles and have bought 8 total and I sure am not down on the product. What I really hoped for was someone from T/C would read this post and realize they need to fix their customer service department. As I posted earlier I have been in every building there. I have watched the investment casting being made filled broke and seeing the smallest of parts coming out basically ready to go. I have seen the barrels being made the final assembly of product. The company is huge and they need to catch up on the customer service end. Who ever is in charge of marketing needs to look into selling more traditions stuff as well I miss the rifles they use to sell. |

Who ever is in charge of marketing needs to look into selling more traditions stuff as well I miss the rifles they use to sell. I shoot both guns, modern inline and sidehammer percusion, and I enjoy them equally. And the funny part is I have know urge to go back to the center fire guns - unless I feel that I can not adequately function with the restrictions that could be put on ML hunting. Statistics indicated that the popularity of ML hunting could be attributed to the additional hunting oportunites the you could gain if you hunted with both weapons. Today many of those people that originally bought the ML to extend their season - now hunt all year with their ML. |
RE: Trouble with T/C tech support.
Yes I know that but there is a market for well built American rifles that are at best good reproductions of early weapons and T/C sold many of those. I know they started as an investment casting company and then created the Contender and that put them into the shooting sports world but what made them big was their Hawken rifle.
When you look on the net and can't find a Sennica for under $400 you know there is a demand for these rifles. Perdisoli is doing just fine selling quality rifles so is Invest-arms. Why not T/C? How much bottom line do you need on product lines? The big three US car companies make full sized vans and how much market do they demand? Yet they keep building them competing against the other guys. I bought my Crockett .32 made by Traditions for almost $300 because that's all I could find in my price range. I would have paid more for a T/C with the same style but they don't build them any more. Bottom line it's their company and I hope they figure out how to keep customers it is no skin off my back if they go south because I have plenty of guns to keep me busy for the rest of my life. |
