Strychnine Gravel Piles with a Chrono

I know this is not a great target but I have a good excuse(s)

1. I was shooting through a chrono - that always bothers me because it is my chrono.
2. It was windy.
3. It was cold - and the wind made it colder
4. And the nut behind the trigger got impaitent at times, speaking of trigger - I really noticed it today - it did seem hard to pull today - but for hunting it is perfect 3.5#'s
5. Shooting different components
6. There has got to be more that I will think of later

The goal today was to get some chrono information. The chrono was set up 8' off the muzzle and I first set the target a 25 yards and thought ah what the heck! with the wind I moved it to 100 yards, with another thought in mind. I wanted to see what the how much difference the impact points of the different bullets with a 110 grains of powder @ 100.

Therefore the reason showingthe target. I was surprised at the intermingling of all the shots. I was trying to keep track of the different impacts but lost track - it was to cold and to much snow to walk out there each and mark each group, but they are intermingled amoung each other.

sabotloader,
I'm not familiar with the Austin & Halleck ML. What's the barrel length?
Nice target and excellent info. Good Post

Some interesting speeds with the bullets. Especially the .40 calibers. As for the target,I would think you have nothing to worry about shooting like that. I passed on the shooting today. TOO COLD! Nice Shooting. 110 grains of Triple Se7en is pushing things pretty good it seems. The 300 grain projectiles - Gold Dot surprise me they are moving that fast...

Nice report and good shooting!!

I am really thinking I like that 110 grain load for hunting. I started the 110 with the 10mm's and after talking to myself for several minutes decided I would stay at 110 to shoot the other projectiles. I really did not notice a lot of difference in recoil from my normal 100 grain load until i got the the 300's there was a difference there but really not that bad. My upper lip took a bit of a licking though... I was trained to shoot the military stye... I put my mouth/lips on my grip thumb to get the same head position each time - well my thumb thumped my lip especially on those 300 grain shots.

I am still a bit intriqued by the fact that all of the projectiles were about the same heigth on the target. And number 2 - if I am going to continue to use 110 I am going to have run thescope down a bit.

The 300 grain projectiles - Gold Dot surprise me they are moving that fast...
And they have a BC of .232 which is really nice down range....

Good shooting sabotloader, and interesting information.
I too was surprised at the heavy projectiles. Was
planning to shoot too but 6" of snow, 20mph winds,
wind chill of -8, I stayed home with the babies
mama. Funny thing it was close to 60 wednesday,
but it would have taken an act of congress to
get off work. Oh well glad you got some shooting in.
Again good post my friend.

Would have been nice if you had marked those groups off. Go back and do it again. :D:D Nah! That's good shootin'! Someone would have had to pay me dearly to go shooting yesterday.

Funny how those triggers get so much heavier when a guy is aiming at paper. That's why I set mine lower, I shoot a lot more paper than hide. :)

Okay, I'm gonna sneak this in here since I really don't want anyone to see this ;) http://www.williamsgunsight.com/documents/knightrifles.htm

What makes this stupid of me (aside from the usual reasons) is that I'm trying to sell a NIB .50 Elite for more money (I've got more in it)on one of the other forums. I posted the link there too. [:o]
