That seem like a ok price they go for about 400+ new I got one and love it. I would pick it up while you can they stop makeing them. Stainless steel also runs more. My got the job done this year.:D

RE: Is this a good price?

They are good shooting rifles my hunting buddy has one that shoots real well but he hates cleaning it. You have to take down the bolt and clean it real well after shooting or it will get screwed up. He is actually looking for a new inline for next year but is not going to sell the 700.

His has the percussion breech plug and uses pellets with no problem.

My personal opinion on the rifle is it is a fine rifle but needs to be tweeked to get the performance it is capable of.

You might want to check out Kittery Trading Post's used guns section http://ktpguns.com/index.html click on search, select Muzzleload:Long on the left and click search. The result will show 20 items per page.

You could also select specific manufacturers on the right prior to clicking search, but I like to see what all they have once in awhile. :)

Kittery Trading Post is a good store, they are about an hour from my house and they are a great outfitter/gun shop.

They have 100s of m/l.

RE: Is this a good price?

That tradeing post link showed prices for Remington 700's even a bit higher than what I had found.
Also I don't hold a FFL so couldn't buy from them any way.
Thanks for the link just the same.

You don't need an FFL for the pure muzzleloaders. I asked them a while back.

Bought my first muzzleloader from KTP at their old store roughly 35 years ago. Great folks to deal with back then.
