Double Triggers?

When you go hunting do you use your set trigger before the first of just fire it without the set trigger? Will it spook the game?

No, I dont mess with the set trigger while hunting. Too much to worry with. And would hate to have a accidental firing. I can't imagine the noise causing issues. I might use it if it was a perfect situation and a long shot.

If I am sitting on a stand and see one coming in or one milling around that has no idea I am there, I always use the set trigger. Just be careful you do not touch that front trigger too soon or you will have a very unpleasant surprise. I cock the rifle using the front trigger, holding that back and then releasing it at the end so cocking the rifle makes no noise. Then I hit the set trigger and get a good solid rest, then stick my UNGLOVED finger into the trigger guard and finally take my shot. I try and duplicate the same things I practice on the range. I use a set trigger on the range and I use on hunting. The only time I do not is if I make a snap shot or surprised shot for instance when stalking and you bring your rifle up and you are eye to eye with the game... then it is cock and fire time.

If I were to get a Kap Kover could I use it as the safety could I have the hammer all the way back or would that do bad things to the spring?

I don't know if it would hurt he spring or not, I just can not see the reason to walk around with a rifle cocked. It sounds like an accident about to happen. If need be, put it on half cock.
