TC Renegade questions
Hi I have an older TC Renegade and I was wondering if any one has used one and what combinations of powder and bullets worked. Also I was wonder if I could shoot Triple 7 powder out of it. Any help would be great.
Thanks-Bobby

RE: TC Renegade questions
I own a couple of them and they all shoot excellent. Roundball and patch with 90 grains of Goex 2f is a good load in them. Today I was shooting 310 grain Buffalo Bullet ball-ets with 85 grains of Goex 2f.
Yes you can shoot Triple Se7en and it shoots real good. You have to watch your patches though. Triple Se7en likes to burn them. If that happens add a wonder wad between the powder and the patch.

I have an older Renegade and it shoots t7-3f & sabots quite well if you wanted to go that far. Mine is a 1/48 twist, but if yours is really an older one it might have a slower round ball twist. You will have to check that out, if you do not know you can call TC and with the serial number they can tell you.
One of the keys in shooting t7 in the gun is to get some of the granuales of powder out into the flash tunnel in the breech plug and preferrably clear out under the nipple. T7 does not ignite as easily as real black powder. Second remember that t7 is a little more potent than BP so reduce your loads - the common rule of thumb is 15%.
