What loose powder for T/C Encore?
 

I'm going to start experimenting with loose powder this Spring with my Encore.

What powder should I try? Currently using pyrodex pellets.

I like American Pioneer Powder(AAP) fffg if you can get it. Shoots clean and is a breeze to clean up. Havent tried Shockey's Gold yet in the AAP. Will try it when it is available here. Jim Shockey endorses this powder now and just about all he does is hunt with a muzzleloader. Must be good.

I like 777 in my T/C Omega. I alsoexperimented with Shockey's Gold 3f powder a few days ago. It also shot extremely well in my gun. I was a little disappointed in the clean up though. It was cleaner than 777 but not as clean as some advertisements would lead you to believe. I would like to try Black Mag 3 but I have'nt as of yet.

Triple Se7en works well in my Encore. In fact it shoots so good I have not tried any other powder in the rifle in three years. I shot a few T7 pellets in it one year when I was low on powder but never worked the load up because I found a new can of loose.

I shoot 120g with a Hornaday 265gfphp Interlock and T/C magexpress sabots.
