RE: So what is in the solvent?

If I was going to try that I would use WD40 bought in gallon containers.Reason being that when I had a problem with an unfireable load with a round ball gun I poured it full of wd and left it a few days till I got home to the right tools to extract it;no rust showed in those 3 days but the barrel was sealed up in a tube of WD40.

Just do some test experiments. You can get a Gallon of Cabelas solvent for a reasonable price. They put natural citrus products in their sovent.
