What is your favorite sabot for the T/C Omega 50 cal? I was looking at the t/c shockwaves in about 250gr. What others should I consider?

i just got an omega and was thinking of buying the plastic sabots and buying a box of 100 hornady xtp 240 gr. 44 cal. bullets to go in the sabot. i figure 100 rounds for under 20$ should keep me going. those plastic polymer tips kinda scare me.

I don't shoot an Omega but I do a Black Diamond XR and they like the Shockwaves with 200 & 250 grain bullets. Also the 240 grain XTP and Cheapshots are all good shooters. The amount of powder you put in them will be the biggest effect on the accuracy. All of them are good shooters and excellent hunting loads.

The Black Diamond also likes the 460 grain No Excuse Conicals.

T/C's 200 gr. Shockwave in the blue sabot over 110 grs. of Triple Se7en ffg loose powder seems to be about the best load I've found in my Omega.

Ibought an Omega last month and killed a monster Buck with it In Pike County Ill.I love that Gun. The best load I found was Hornady XTP 300 Grain with 100 Grain of t777. I use the powder instead of the pellets. That load is dead accurate at 100 yards.

When buying the XTPs or Speer Gold Dots in bulk - along with plastic sabots, buy 45-cal bullets. A few of us here at this site have experienced flyers with green 44-cal sabotswhen stepping out to 100 yards & beyond.

i shoot the black mmp sabots with.451 dia. 45cal xtp's in either 230 gr. or 300 or their cousin the speer bullet. i tried the green sabot with 44cal bullet i didn't like how fly beyond 75 yards.

I had three shots touching at 82 yds. with 95 grains of Pinnacle, 250 gr shockwave but haven't been able to duplicate it. the 200 and 250 shockwave seem to ave about 1.5" -2" groups with 100 grs. with a flier now and then. I would like to bump up the powder a little as a lot of the fields I hunt over are 150-yds across. Don't quite feel I have enough consistency to press it that far yet. The weather has been pretty crappy here in southern Mich.

Tried duplex dead centers 175 and 195 gr they ave about 3" group

I have load developed quite a few Omega's
220 gr. Dead Center 110 FF 777 is a tough load to beat
