It actually should shoot very close to the same place. If you have a place and the time though, it never hurts to take a few shots with is rifle after a long trip. Thats a good way to make sure the sights did not get bumped..

good luck.

You set up should be fine except I don't know enough about the APP to give you thunbs up or down. It is not popular in NH and we are know for having cold weather, just saying. Cayugad lives in the northern central part of the country I am sure he has a good answer for ya.

Hookset,
My only suggestion is to watch bringing the gun in from the cold to the warm. It doesn't take long for the gun to sweat.
Otherwise, it will shoot just fine in the cold.

RE: BP in the cold???

will a 60-80 degree change in temps effect the powder at all?
will velocities change?
will i have more of a problem with condensation?
will keeping it out in the truck be good or will it freeze up?

appreciate any advice from ya'll cold weather hunters.

It should do fine! I've shot my Hawken at temperatures below zero in Indiana with no problems! Use CCI No. 11 magnum caps, and it'll fire!

As far as condensation is concerned, it WILL pose a problem if you take the rifle into a warm, humid room after it has gotten cold. leave it outside in a locked vehicle or unheated loction like a barn or woodshed overnight. DON"T haul it back and forth from the cold outdoors into a house and back outside, etc., repeatedly while hunting!
