is this load ok?

well my hunts coming up and as of now I found a load that I feel comfortable with out to 80 yards, whitch is not what I like but I have two good spots were thats about my max shooting distance anyways, anyway I am gonna try for something differnt tommorow but as of now this is my load is gonna give me some serious knock down power on a good 200+ bucks shoulder, I dont ever aim for there beeing a bowhunter I take the lungs out but I always want a load to cover human error if it ever does happen, anyways I was shooting 85 grains 777, aero tip 223 powerbelt, kleenbore primers, give me enough energy at 80 yards??.....I am gonna try some differnt loads tommorow but as of now this one is my best...

The 85 grains of Triple Se7en is equal to any 100 grain load of 2f powder. And the 245 grain Powerbelt is a known deer taker. I do not think you would have a problem to that 80 yard distance and much further if you can place your shot...

Good luck.

Concur with Cayugad - that should tackle a whitetail just fine...

Since you have switched to PowerBelts has anyone explained to you about taking the plastic skirt off the bottom and lubing the post with a little BB? I do not shoot PowerBelts - so check with Cayugad,Triple Seven or any other regular shooter of PowerBelts about this little trick.

how is my tracjectory with this load. I would assume its pretty flat, I am gonna bump it up to 90 grains and see as well..

RE: is this load ok?

Actually I estimated the ballistics of the 245 grain Powerbelt with 90 grains of Triple Se7en and it does very well. If sighted in for 100 yards it drops only about 2.5 inches at 125 yards, 5.5 inches at 150 yards, 10.7 inches at 175 yards and almost 17 inches out at 200 yards. It also retains good energy. Overall I would say you have a very effective load there.

I might add, all the ballistics charts in the world will not tell you as much as an afternoon on the range will tell you. Your just going to have to go shoot that rifle some more.. Sorry :D

Can not help you without a velocity. Big 6x6 records a velocity of 1776fps with a 50 cal 235QT bullet. From their you get your trajectory from the calulator @

http://www.handloads.com/calc/index.html

Knight Disc Extreme .50 235gr QT
2- 777 pellets -1616fps
2- Pyrodex pellets -1690fps
3- 777 pellets -2161fps
3- Pyrodex pellets -2087fps
90gr fffg 777 - 1776fps

Hope this helps some....
