RE: Loose Pyrodex vs. Pellets
but beyond that the irregularities in the pellets has always been my main concern. The following information comes from another writer on another site but it certainly verifies what I have found in my own personal experiances...
i did not trust the pellets in my 209X50 encore, the reason was because of the shape of the breech plug, stuffing something with a flat end (the pellets) into a concave area (the breech plug), w/o the pellets sitting square and flat seemed dangerous to me, anybody remember the old "air gap" theory, i believe i'll stick with loose powder and be sure my projectile is firmly seated on the powder, with no extra space[:-], imay be wrong but it has worked for 20+ years;)

RE: Loose Pyrodex vs. Pellets
Someone was raving about using a stack of 30 grain pellets awhile back. If you try it, let us know how things turned out.

RE: Loose Pyrodex vs. Pellets
I use loose pyrodex in my Black Diamond XR 110 grains with a 240 grain XTP makes my ml a shoot nice groups. I ve tried to use pellets but my gun does not like any of the combinations. I like loose because of its cheaper price. Plus most of my shots are under 100 yards so a small group with looseis ok.
