Question about White conicals.
Does anyone here have any experience with the 400grWhite Power Punch in 50 cal?
I have been thinking of trying them out but have not found any locally. The 460 No Excuses shoot very well out of my gun but I was wanting to try something a littlelighter to see if it would be as accurate. Anyone getting good results from them? |
RE: Question about White conicals.
What are you shooting it out of? If I remember correctly the Whites are a .001 smaller than the NE's... I did not have good groups with them out of my White Model 98 .451 cal. The NE's group much better.

RE: Question about White conicals.
I'm shooting a CVA Magbolt 50. The bore is .500 to .501, grooves are .508 to .509. The NE's I have are .503. If I remember right the Whites are also .503. Either way they should work in my gun.
Where do you guys get them? There is one store locally that carries the larger ones but I have never seen the 400's there. Also, what's a good price for them? Thanks for the comments so far. |
RE: Question about White conicals.
You might check your owners manual... I believe CVA does not recommend shooting bullets above 400 gr. It's unsafe or something like that...

RE: Question about White conicals.
FH,
You are correct, the manual does have a limit of 400gr on conicals for 150gr loads. I double checked with CVA about heavier bullets before getting the NE's and they told me for bullets upto and including the heaviest PowerBelt (which is over 500gr), that the max powder load was 100gr. I shoot them with 90gr and they shoot great. If the 400gr Whites do as well I may switch over though. Not neccessarily to push them harder but to flatten the trajectory just a bit. |
