I have been shooting ML rifles since 1954 - seasoning is for cast-iron frying pans!! "Seasoning" a bore might (MIGHT!!) have made sense when barrels were made from soft iron, but today they are made from steel - steel generally has pores that are too fine for seasoning to really "take" on the structure of the bore. This is particularly true if you use a substitute powder like 777 or APP....
