I just recently purchased a T/C Omega 50 cal. I would like to put a scope on it. Any suggestions on what rings, mount, and scope I should purchase.
Thanks!

If you're wanting Quick Release mounts then go with Leupold mounts and bases. If you want a simple attached scope that you will not be removing I would go with Weaver bases and I personally like the B-Square mounts. They are real strong and seem to hold well. Also they will not break the bank when you buy them.
As for the scope, most people will tell you to get as good a quality scope as you can afford. If we knew a price range that would make the question a little easier. I just purchased a Sightron I 3-9x40mm and am real happy with it. It was only $119.00 but the clarity and focus are most impressive as is the eye releif. What are you interested in when you think of a scope?

Allen,
I'm partial to the Leupold Quick Release rings and base on my muzzleloaders. The scope comes off easy for cleaning and retains the zero point when you remount your scope and you don't need any tools to do this. They may cost a little more, but are well worth the extra $$
Whenyou think of purchasing a scope, think ofwhat kind of shots you expectto take where you hunt. You don't need high powered scope if you hunt where the longest shot would be 75yds. For this type of hunting, I prefer a good quality 1-5X power scope.
I see you live in Texas and your shots could take you well past 100yds. For this type of huntingI'd recommendthe best good quality2-7X or 3-9X power you can afford. I really like the Burris Fullfield II's and theballastic plexreticle.Theballistic plex reticleand similiar reticles allow you a good reference pointfor those longer shots.
You bought a good quality muzzleloader......buy a scope to match. You won't be sorry afterwards!
Keep it in the 10X

2 years ago I went with Warne base and rings for my Omega. They're a little pricey, but they're the best. Check out their website www.warnescopemounts.com. They also have QD rings, but I don't see the need for them. I shoot 777 andthat powder isso easy to clean, why bother removing the scope.
I'll never shoot at a deer over 150 yards away with my Omega, so I went with a Bushnell 3200 Firefly 1.5 x 4.5. So far it hasn't let me down. Last year I took a doe at last legallight, 1/2 hour after subdown,at about 125 yards; without the Fireflyit wouldn't of happened.

I put a Leupold 3X9-40 on my Omega along with the Leupold bases and rings. This has proved to be very durable as I have traveled from the midwest to Maine and to Wyoming with this gun in the back of a truck (in case of course) or a trailer, and for many miles on a ATV without having any accuracy problems.
