Knight Disc Coversion Kits

A number of post are talking about the red disc (disc extreeme) and the older org disc. Dan at the about address has the conversion kit (just ordered on said he had a bunch) for 35 bucks shipping included. Heck the gun is suppose to get here tomorrow, and now I'm gonna have to wait on the coversion kit before I shoot it, In the words of my kids when they were growing up NOT. It'll go bang Sat.

what all does this conversion do other then allow you to shoot the red instead of the orange discs? I shot my Disc today and it is a sweet rifle...

Ok now this all might be witches brew and half truths so take all with a grain of salt. The red disc bolt moves forward pushing the disc on the nipple. In theory it's a better seal and yep there is 101 ways to seal the cap/primer so not so much the water proofing deal. I think it gives you a little less blow back into the bolt. Also a little better local availability. That's about it I think

I converted mine shortly after I purchased it. Its all a little Knight hype on totally water proofing the disc and breech plug. The red disc does IMO load and eject easier if you remember to pull bolt all the way back to pop the disc loose. If I had it to do over again I'd keep the original orange version and bolt and saved my money.

No witches brew or half truths at all, the seal with the red discs allows NO blow back on my gun. As far as waterproofing, I have no intention of submerging my gun so I can't attest to that. When I was still using the orange discs, I had to wear safety goggles to shoot because of the blow back. I am a believer.

I did notice there is a lot of blow back with the orange discs. I took some Q-tips and wiped out the breech once during my shooting and that seemed to take care of the fowling. I doubt if I will get more then a couple of times out of the orange discs. Are the red discs any better for reloading?

I've had a disc 45 and didn't care for it, however I did use the disc more than once but the way I did it (it worked for me) was to pop the primers, throw them into a old sock, tie the sock shut and throw it in with the wash, it seemed to work for at least 3 shots after that I figured I was pushing it. I guess I also need to mention that I shoot fairly light loads 100 gr tops (90 most of the time) so if you shoot max loads they probably would stretch a bit more,
