RE: Shooting round balls out of TC Encore...how?

LaneNebraska - Very interesting concept to say the least. A few questions:
- what was the twist out of the rifle you were shooting .440 PRBs out of the sabots? Curious what the results would be out of my Encore which has a 1:28 twist, but I'm gonna try this regardless!

- are you able to seat the PRB to the bottom of the sabot? Like the other poster in your original thread, I'm surprised that a .440 PRB fits into a sabot designed for a smaller projectile.

Thanks for the idea.

I have the 1:28 twist also.

The RB pushes in just snug. You can feel it move that 1/2 inch or so, then it bottoms out. The bearing surface of the RB is greatly reduced to that of a conical/pistol bullet.

I learned from another forum, that this loading style has been used by professional target shooters. It keeps the sabot in pristine condition until firing. (And I thought I discovered it first[8D] )

I plan on using it for the first shot this deer season, and the second will be a 295 HP/PB for quicker reloading!;)
