RE: does pyrodex pellets absorb moisture?

Yes but I think it is because of the package. The pellets box does not seal out the elements. It is an open clam shell.

RE: does pyrodex pellets absorb moisture?

i had some pellets go bad last yr , they turned dark colored with a greenish tint. I took them to the range and they fired but couldnt hit the target and didnt sound right. 1 shot we even saw the bullet fall half way like you underhand threw it.
I went to where i had bought them the yr before and went to buy some more . told the guy at the counter what happened and if we could open up a Jar before i bought them and they looked the same.BAD. Turned out they were from the same lot from the yr before . me and the counter guy opened all they had and they were all bad. Ended up trying TRIPLE 777 and they worked fine.

RE: does pyrodex pellets absorb moisture?

i think all pyrodex powders absorb moisture. last season i tried 80 grains of ffg in my T/C. carried it all day without a shot. at the end of the day i tried to fire it to empty the gun and it would not fire. i ended up in the garage with the air compressor blowing the load out. the powder load came out in one big chunk. it looked like a home made pellet until it broke into chunks when it hit the driveway. no more pyrodex i'll just stick with the goex.:)
