Default Precision Bullet

Anybody shoot precision bullets in their in-lines? I have tried many different bullets and seem to have gotten my best results hunting from thier Keith Nose HP in .360 grains. They are out of Canada.

Love 'em! I was looking for a longer distance load and was thinking about a lighter bullet. Mark Whiz (I don't know if he visits here or not? He is on Eders though) suggested instead that I try the PR bullets in a heavier version. Because of the longer length and design they offer a much better BC and fly better at longer ranges.

I was shooting a 300 hornady XTP with two 50 grn clean shot pellets. They worked great at 100 yards, but at 130-150 the really opened up. I was looking for a max distance of 150 yards.

I took Marks advice and could not be happier. I now shoot a PR 350 grn QT with 95 grns of 777 fffg out of my remington 700ml. I sighted in at 130 yards and they shoot very well out to 150 yards. I'm 2 inches high at 50 yards, about 3 inches high from 70 to 85 yards and 2 inches high again at 100. Dead on at 130 and around 3 inches low again at 150. So basically if I put the cross hairs in the center of the vitals any where out to 150 yards I'm good to go.

I have not had a chance to shoot a deer yet with them, but I feel they should perform better then the XTP jacketed pistol bullets I was using.

My buddy is even going to try them this year after seeing how well my rifle shot with them. His knight actually shoots the XTP's pretty well out to 150 yards though. He just likes the design of the bullet better.

I'm shooting the Extreme HP 253 in the 330 grains and love them. I have the 215 grain .40 QT, and Extreme HP 253 in the following grains: 275, 300, and 330 grain. Out of all of them at 100 yards the 330 are tight 1 1/2" groups hitting 1" high. Can't complain and when/if I get a shot at a deer I'll post the results, but I think I'll be able to recover it with a 330 grain bullet.

I'm shooting it in combination with 90 grains of BM3

I called Precision Bullets last year and the fellow I talked to ( I guess his name is Cecil ) suggested a smaller bullet than I wanted for my Encore. He said try a 200 grain Dead Center for whitetails. I was short on time and tried two Pyrodex pellets and the DC's. Without even trying, I got 1 1/2 inch groups @ 100 yards. I shot a doe at 50 yards and knocked it off it's feet. I'll be using that load again this year even though I think I could tighten the groups a bit with a loose powder load. Jim

Love their bullets and Conicals, basically the only thing I will shoot in my Sideloks and in-line.

Yeppers, Paul.......................I'm here too. Like ZZ Topp - I'm Nationwide!

I love the PR bullet offerings.................especially the QTs - my Knight just shoots them like nobody's business. For 90% of my shooting or hunting - they're what I reach for first.
Cecil at PR can be a bit of a "character" to talk too personally.............but that's how a lot of Cannucks are. All you have to do is end every sentence in "eh?" and you'll hit it off.
