.50 to .45
 
maybe someone can tell me if it is possible to take a 50 cal black powder sabotand shoot a 45 cal ? or do they make a sabot reducer of some kind.

Different sabots are made for each caliber depending on the projectile you want to shoot. A common .50 caliber sabot will shoot the .429-.430 (.44 caliber), .451-.452 (.45 caliber)and .457-.458 (.45 caliber)diameter bullets. In the .45 caliber rifle the sabots are aimed at the .40 and .357 caliber bullets from what I have seen. I personally do not shoot a .45 caliber.

One of the best sabot/bullet combinations I used in a .50cal Knight MK-85 was the .45cal Hornady...specificallythe.452/300grn XTP-HP in a MMl .50cal black sabot,with 100grns Pyrodex RS...extremely accurate and devastating ondeer.
