Hey Dochunter!!!!!
Your Encore is a great shooting rifle once you get used to it.
Do me a favor and try 120g loose 777 with a 265g Honaday .429 flat point and a mag express sabot and then tell me your gun can't hit the side of a barn. That load is the best I have shot out of my Encore although I admit to not giving the Shockwave a good test. |
RE: Hey Dochunter!!!!!
Actually, when I found how well my Encore shot the two bullets from Precision Muzzleloading, I bought hundreds of both. I probably have a lifetime supply of both the 300 gr. and 330 gr. bullets! Thanks for the hint though. My most accurate loads with the 330 gr. bullet come with 120 gr. (by volume) of loose Pyrodex, but results with Pyrodex pellets (3) are almost as good. Those are loads I have used for elk. For deer, I shoot the 300 gr. bullet with 100 gr. of Pyrodex, also with excellent accuracy. I am such a tightwad, I hate to buy 777 til I shoot up all my Pyrodex!

RE: Hey Dochunter!!!!!
I'm more foolish powder wise, I have like 5lbs of Pyrodex and don't shoot it LOL. I should just shoot it all up at the range and have fun with it.
I shoot mostly loose 777 and Goex now a days. |
