T/C Bullets

Hey,
I was just wondering has anybody hunted with the T/C Mag Sabots in the 250 grPTX,and the 300gr. PTX bullets?
If so how did you like the way they worked on white tail deer.
Thanks

They seem to work about as well as T/C Shockwaves on targets... but not as well on deer-sized game. Most of the PTX issues concern fragmentation. Kind of why T/C decided to the Shockwave route instead. Your PTXs are either now discontinued or about to be by T/C. My Omega loved them (250s) with 105 gr. FFF 777

RE: T/C Bullets

I have settled on a bullet made by Hornaday with mag express sabots for my deer rounds. I have not had a chance to try this combo on deer but it should work well in a magnum rifle. I use the 265g interlock flat point made for .44mag carbines and it shoots real well out of my Encore and Scout.

In the encore I load 120g loose 777 with a T/C mag express sabot and these bullets and it is the most accurate 100yd round I have ever shot. It is very close to my .308 in this range so I give that load the thumbs up in my Encore.

If you can use one of the four outboard sighting targets on a standard sight in target you know it is shooting well. Hitting them 1/2 bulls is a rush.

I shoot the 250 grain PTX and they work great. Very accurate out of my Black Diamond XR. I think (although not certain) they are like a XTP with a plastic plug. I have no idea how they work on deer because they would not cooperate....
