Bought my first BP rifle
a buddy here at work sold me a CVA bobcat he hadn't been using. He sold it to me for $55, which seemed cheap enough to me. It's a 1:48 twist .50 cal, and not near as fancy as the new ones at Bass Pro shops, but a place to start all the same. I have not hunted since the 80's, and that was all BOW hunting, so I'm definately in rookie status for a while
wish me luck! Jim Cox [email protected] |
RE: Bought my first BP rifle
I've never heard of a Staghorn with a 1-48' twist. Email [email protected] & ask them. Be sure to include your serial numbers on the rifle.

Triple Se7en he didn't say Staghorn.
Coxster, the bobcat will do you fine, what do you plan on shooting out of it? |
RE: Bought my first BP rifle
Bobcats for the most part are good roundball shooters. Try 80 grains of FFg and a patched .490 roundball. I think you will be pleased with the rifle. Keep your shots under 100 yards or to a distance you're comfortable in shooting too, and you can make venison with that rifle..
Good luck |
