Cast bullets in Sabots

Anybody use cast bullets in Sabots? Just started sighting in my TC Impact. Had Hornady 240 gr XTP with Harvestor Sabots, didn't shoot well at all. Had some 200 gr cast .429 and for grins tried them with 80 gr T7 CCI mag 209, they gave me a 1 hole 5 shot group at 25 yards! Need to try them at longer distances. Any body else use cast with sabots?

Heck yes. Great for plinking. In fact I might even use them for bear this year. I'm contemplating using .458 dia 405 grain cast bullets in MMP sabots. That ought to thump a bear pretty good.

I cast a number of bullets that I shoot both out of sabots and as conical bullets. My favorite is out of a Lee mold, made for the 45-70 government. It is supposed to throw a 405 .458 bullet. I have shot them out of the orange knight sabots and sized them down to shoot out of the black harvester sabots.

Dave I was going to be shooting those same things today out of my .50 GM LRH barrel but we had a ton of rain last night into this morning and I can't get this stupid incision wet. Going to go tomorrow.
