Post Your Target - 3 Shots / 50 Yards / Offhand

I don't particularly care for big deer type of contests. So I'll pass on the one being set up. (I don't care for stickies either - always thought they have a tendency to expand in number and clutter up a forum.)

But if anyone wants to try a three-shot off-hand "honor shoot" just for grins and giggles, I'd be in.

Target: A three inch black dot on a 8.5" x 11" sheet of printer paper - three shots only.

Range: 50 yards.

Gun/Sights/Load: Any muzzle loader of your choice (no other restrictions).

Other: You may shoot as many targets as you want, but have to post both the best one and the worst one.

I'm pretty sure I could put at least one shot out of three on paper. :s2: Might even try one target with iron sights and one with a scope.

Now THAT'S a fun contest! I'd be all for it but my shooting range is also my hunting land so the range is closed until after deer season :s4:

When I was a kid, during the summers as my dad and I spent time on the farm, we'd shoot blackbirds, groundhogs ect and he wouldn't let me use a rest. His theory was, 'if you can shoot well off handed, shooting with a rest will be a piece of cake' So I was forced to shoot off hand. I hated it then, but now I'm quite glad me made me do it.

The load was 110g BH209, 300g Deep Curl, W209, crush rib sabot. Temperature was about 70; there was an inconsistent breeze; elevation about 4700'; range was 50 yard or maybe near 51 yard.

Black dot ended up being 3 1/4" not 3" so i imagine this target doesn't meet spec. Shooting off hand isn't so very much fun for me, so i will not repeat with a 3" dot, unless i can use sticks. I accept disqualification.

That sounds like a challenge to me Semi. I will even shoot my Encore Muzzle loading pistol along with my Renegades. Now I just have to tell the Boss
( I mean The Wife unit) that I can't go with her to her sister's house in Daytona this weekend.
Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to the range I go.

I don't guess its OK to post older pics? I assume the shooting must occur from now until - whenever. Too bad cause I shot this with my .45 GM-LRH a few months ago. I could try this with my 1:70 GM .54 but I don't want to scare you guys off. That barrel is scary accurate.

I yeild to the pros.

I took one shot with the 45 Knight and just clipped the top of the target. ( the whole sheet, not just the bull ) I figured why waste two more shots.

I was surprised on how difficult it was to hold it steady. Perhaps I've been relying on the Harris Bibods too long.

I won't get to shoot until next weekend. But I know I won't come close to that one Bronko posted.

NEW RULE: Anyone called Bronko must shoot holding the gun with one hand only, and the other hand in their pocket.
