Lodging at Buford, Colo.

I might be elk hunting the second season around Buford and was wondering if their are any motels in Buford. I would like to stay in town and then drive to my hunt area south of Buford. I have never been to Burford. Is Buford large enought to have motels? The cheaper the price the better. I will be hunting by myself. Thanks

Buford is a real small place - just a general store with a few cabins and RV parking. Right in the White River NF and Flat Tops Wilderness. Very popular. Go here to get more info http://www.meekerchamber.com/buford.htm

Elk2901, thanks for the reply. I am trying to line up some lodging in the area and was hoping Buford would have motels. I guess I am out of luck. It looks like a pretty good drive from Meeker to where I want to hunt so I guess I will have to pass on elk hunting this year.

There is plenty of good camping right up the road from Buford. Need to get there Thursday to get a choice site. You can also take an ATV back into White River NF, but I think that just scares off the elk. Lots of hunters do it.
