SLC Sportsmans Exposition

Well for those of you that attended SLC Expo, now you've seen it. Same outfit goes thru Denver each year and I always check it out.

Here is the question. Out of all the milling masses shuffling up and down the isles, what percent do you think will actually ever pull out the check book and "pull the trigger" a hunt that is beyond their current realm of hunting?

Not me that is for sure! That goes beyond fun coupon status. Nice to see around ELKampMaster. Been having fun?

Honestly for a guess at a number, maybe 1% or less. It was funny because I actually took time to check out the outfit booths and most of them were pretty slow. Meaning people were walking by looking at the mounts they had up but not really checking out hunts. I saw one guy behind a booth with his feet up and his hat down taking a nap.

GSE,

Been having fun?
In answer to your question. Life has been a giggle. Just got back from Europe.
I'll post some hunting lodge/big game (moose/red stag) photos once they're back from being developed.
I cringe to think that hunting here in the USA may end up like how its done over there.
=================

I take it from your answer that you think 0% of folks there were actually buying the hunts at the SLC show.
Is that correct?

Wolfkiller,

Upon re-reading my post I can see where you might think I had been over there hunting, but no, I was over there visiting friends and was only there a short time and since they know I like hunting we visited the Queen's Woods and associated hunting lodge and trophies to check out how their hunters do things.... royalty, barons, baronets, etc. Interesting history and heritage but not American style "everyone gets a shot at playing ball." Over there if you are a "commoner" and want to hunt, well, you pretty well do it by living the hunting experience vicariously through the hunting adventures of the royal family. [:'(][:'(][:'(]

Sorry for the confusion. [:o]
But, as I said, it was a giggle.

EKM, what do you think the possibility is, that the Royals and such get on the Euro huntingnet and discuss things? That sounds like a fun trip though.

EKM, sound like you had fun, good for you. I think quite a few people buy hunts from these shows. But I think home work is done first, checking out the guides through referrals and what not. Then they buy later, but they have fun coupons.
