Underwear Question
Long underwear question that is.
I am planning an Elk hunting trip to Colorado this November. In looking at my current list of gear I decided to buy some new long underwear. I am looking at getting a few sets of Merino wool long underwear. The question is should I get the 100% Merino wool variety or something along the lines of 80% Merino wool 15% Polyester 5% Lyrca??? Does anyone have first hand knowledge of the pros and cons of each??? Thank you in advance. Regards, Steve |

RE: Underwear Question
I purchased MTP Hunt Series with Scent Eliminator Plus Polar Weight from Cabelas on sale. They are light weight and very very warm. Good luck.

RE: Underwear Question
I have not heard a hunter mention Capilene. It was designed for ice climbing years ago. It is hands down the best long underwear I have ever worn. It comes in 3 weights, to cover any situation.

RE: Underwear Question
I can not stand wool on my skin, so I have always used Polyproplene LJ's, socks and have been wearing Helly Hansen garmets for a number of years with no complaints. Warm, wicks moisture and light weight!

RE: Underwear Question
I go for 100% wool too. It breathes and keeps you warm even when wet. Filson has some great products although they can be expensive, but i think it's worth it.
