Putting some serious thought into hunting Black Bear this Fall. I don't like to fly (to many hassels), and since I reside in Texas, I'm looking towards New Mexico for my hunt.

Can anyone recommend some reputable outfitters/guides with proven track records in NM? Are there certain area's that are better in relation to quality and concentration of bear? What's the general quality of the NM bears? Would it be better to go to another state?

As far as the type of hunt: Spot and stalk or baiting. Not really interested in using hounds.

Pretty sure baiting in NM is illegal so spot and stalk is the way to go. My uncle went a few years back not far from santa fe and didnt see much but he said the trip down was well worth it
